Set up in the mid 1980s and originally called The Cellar Project, we are a registered charity (No. 701982) which aims to support people with mental health problems move forward in their recovery and live independent, fulfilling lives.
We offer four different mental health services to adults across the Bradford district and into Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven. Bradford is one of the most deprived districts in the UK and many of the people we work with suffer from multiple disadvantage in their lives. There are estimated to be over 100,000 people experiencing mental health problems in the district.
How we are funded
We currently receive funding from three NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups (Bradford City, Bradford Districts, and Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven), and Bradford Metropolitan District Council. This makes up two thirds of our funding. The final third is raised through grant giving trusts and foundations, the support of individual and corporate donors, and income from our social enterprise activity; The Cellar Trust Cafe, our charity shop and our woodwork shop.
