Over the last week or so we have stood up several times against prejudice, stereotypes and bad press coverage around the subject of mental health. It seems fitting that after all the hard work of people throughout the country standing up for what they believe in we are rewarded by celebrating World Mental Health Day!!
Many people up and down the country are holding Tea & Talk events, where they are encouraged to have a cuppa, a piece of cake and a natter. After all it is good to talk! Rethink are marking the day by releasing a brilliant new resource called Staying well with bipolar disorder. But we want to know what you are doing?
Here are some ideas:
- Talk to friends and family about mental health
- Pledge to end mental health stigma here
- Tweet about your views on mental health
- Invite someone out who you know suffers from mental health problem
If you are doing something to mark the day, we would love to know about it! Leave your comments below…
