Skill Shops @ The Cellar Trust

The Cellar Trust aims to support people with mental health problems engage on their personal development project with practical hands on experience of working with others, time keeping and learning in educational settings.  Preparing clients for attending college, obtaining employment or taking part on a work placement program. The Cellar Trust runs a series of “skill shops” in the following subjects:

Horticulture

Our horticulture space provides outdoor physical activity to clients with an interest in growing and harvesting fruit and vegetables. Our fantastic horticulture team will be delighted to help you learn about techniques such as hot bedding. Subject to sufficient participants we are also able to offer a level 1 NVQ in Horticulture. more

Catering

In catering clients have the opportunity to obtain food hygiene certificate and develop their customer service skills along with learning how to cope with the demands of a kitchen and  time focused food preparation.  The catering is run in a working café based in house serving clients, staff, members of the public and providing buffets for conference delegates in our conference suite more

Woodwork

No formal skills are required to take part in wood work, this is a very relaxed environment that allows clients to socialize with other clients, develop their skills and abilities in joinery, furniture restoration and tool use as well as practising good time keeping and commitment. more

Retail

Our boutique style retail charity shop is situated on Kirkgate in Shipley town centre. Clients will gain skills and experience of working within the retail industry in a friendly and pleasant environment – from preparing stock and shop displays to developing good customer service skills. Working with customers will also help clients gain self confidence and good organisational skills more

Voluntary Work

The Cellar Trust supports clients to find off-site voluntary work in order to support their progress at The Cellar Trust and to promote enrichment. Clients decide with the support of their case manager when they are ready to be introduced to voluntary work and what type of work they think they may enjoy or would benefit from to enhance there job prospects and meet new people. more
