The Café gets the go-ahead for a makeover!

The Salt Cellar Café at The Cellar Project has been given the go-ahead for a refurbishment and a “re-brand”. Work will begin in earnest over the holidays in August and should be completed by mid-September when we will be doing a major re-launch (we will be announcing the date of the re-launch very soon, the Lord Mayor of Bradford has agreed to come and do the official opening!).

After consultation with customers and staff we came up with a new concept based in the roots of the building. The Cellar Project in Shipley and The Salt Cellar Café has been run from the current premises since 1990. Previous to that the building was home to a local catholic school, St Walburga’s Primary School, which used the building for over 100 years between 1869 – 1987!

As the building (although very different to what it looked like in the old school days) still resembles a school, we have decided to rename the Café “The Old School Café”. The refurbishments and renovations will reflect the theme with a new colour scheme, lighting, tables, artwork and décor. Another reason why we think it’s a great name is the food served in the Café – none of this unhealthy fast food here – our meals are all “old school” style – hearty, healthy, home cooked meals that are excellent value for money …in fact we challenge you to find a local restaurant or takeaway where you can get such a healthy meal for just £3!!!

Don’t miss the re-launch and spread the word!
