Mental Health First Aid
“Every organisation in Britain is affected by mental distress and ill health in the workforce. The total cost to employers is estimated at nearly £26 billion each year, that’s over £1,000 per employee in the UK workforce. Simple steps to improve the management of mental health in the workplace should enable employers to save 30% or more of these costs – at least £8 billion a year.” Centre for Mental Health
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course, designed to teach people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. We’ve been delivering this training course since 2016, assisting hundreds of people to become qualified mental health first aiders.
Our MHFA training courses
Our MHFA training courses are delivered by our quality-assured instructor, Chris Bird, who is accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health.
The training courses are designed to give you a deeper understanding of the issues that impact on and relate to people’s mental health, as well as teach you practical skills that can be used every day, including being able to spot the signs and symptoms of mental health issues. After the training you should feel confident guiding people towards appropriate support.
We currently deliver:
- Adult Mental Health First Aid – 2 day course
- Adult Mental Health First Aid Lite – 3 hour course
- Higher Education Mental Health First Aid – 2 day course
- Youth Mental Health First Aid – 2 day course
Everyone who completes the course will become a qualified mental health first aider and earn a certificate from MHFA England. Each attendee will also receive a copy of the MHFA manual and workbook, which are both excellent support resources.
How to book
We can deliver an Adult or Youth MHFA course at a time and location that suits you and your organisation, or you can book individual members of staff onto one of our open courses. For more information or to discuss your training needs contact email@example.com
