Before joining The Cellar Trust, I had a varied employment history – I couldn’t decide what I wanted to be when I grew up! My partner had accessed The Cellar Trust for support, seeing the results which came from the support he received inspired me to pursue a career within Mental Health. I initially started volunteering within the Employment Service, supporting co-facilitated groups. I loved seeing the difference these groups made to people’s wellbeing. I was then offered a role and within 18 months I had progressed to working full time and managing the contract I was working on. During the 7 years I have been with The Cellar Trust I have had the continued support from managers even when times have been challenging. Just having that belief in me, which I didn’t have in myself, has really driven me to continue to better myself. I have had the opportunity to complete a Diploma in NLP, complete management training and I am currently undertaking a Level 5 Qualification in Coaching and Mentoring. I now manage the team I initially started volunteering for. The Cellar Trust genuinely changed my life, and my daughter’s life for the better. I certainly wouldn’t have been able to access the opportunities or made some of the major life changes I have, without the support from the amazing team here. I am so proud to be able to look back and see the journey I have been on.

Joining The Cellar Trust has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. From the very beginning, I’ve felt genuinely lucky to work alongside such a kind, supportive and inspiring group of people. One of the things I’ve valued most is being part of a workplace that truly invests in learning and development. Regular training, the chance to build new skills and the space to grow has all helped me build my confidence and stretch myself in ways I never expected. Being part of projects that have a real impact on people’s lives is incredibly fulfilling. I have had the opportunity to work on Safe Spaces – a crisis service which supports people in emotional distress – and Farfield – our new space for wellbeing, connection and opportunity. These projects have a huge impact on people and communities in Bradford and beyond, and it’s amazing to feel like you have a part to play in that. There’s a strong sense of purpose that runs through everything we do and it’s something I’m proud to be part of. Most of all, I’ve felt like I belong. Looking back on my time here so far, it’s been full of learning, inspiration and plenty of smiles along the way. I’ve grown so much - not just professionally, but personally too. I feel more confident, more capable and incredibly proud to be part of this journey.
